Double Dreams

Sugamoto Satoshi

Room Number: 502 | 602

Room Type: Deluxe Quad Double Bed x 2, Shower, Bath

Capacity: 4

Room Size: 30sqm

Concept:

A work that expresses the two sides of a dream. Dreams are a projection of the unconscious mind deep within a person's heart. At that moment, what the person is thinking unconsciously appears in a different form. I think the strange thing about dreams is that even the person dreaming the dream can get a glimpse of their true feelings, something that they were never consciously aware of. This work also visualizes the influence that other people sleeping in the same space have on each other's dreams. Thoughts released in a dream become intricately intertwined in one's head, filling the room as they change shape freely. Through this scene, he expresses the dynamic movement of diverse thoughts that are freed from consciousness.

Saturation represents the inside of a dream. A colorful true feeling is hidden inside the monochrome dream, and it is about to seep out to the outside. Inversion refers to the reversal of one's unconscious true feelings that appear as a dream and one's conscious true feelings.

Artist: Satoshi Sugamoto

Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. The theme is diversity of thought. The work is an attempt to visualize what is inside one's head, whether it is inside an individual's head or the heads of multiple people. The various intertwining and intermingling flows of thoughts are expressed in three dimensions using brightly colored strings. Its appearance appears to be made up of countless lines, each independent and intricately intertwined, expressing the beauty of the intermingling of different values within individuals and among others.
